HARLEY QUINN STEALS THE SPOTLIGHT AT NYCC

The “delightfully deranged” Harley Quinn makes her own headlines at NYCC with debut date announcements of her own animated original series as well as proving the centerpiece of an art gallery pop-up! 

You can depend on DC to save some of their biggest event announcements for the convention audience, and exactly a year after introducing their fans to the starring line-up then launching the DC Universe subscription service which included the full cast of Titans, this season several of the biggest highlights include the exciting news that Harley Quinn the Animated Original Series will be premiering on the DCU on November 29! The DCU HQ pop-up activation was decked out in exquisite art showcasing everyone’s favorite bad-girl and Amanda Conner herself appeared.

Connor, the artist behind many of Harley Quinn’s most popular contemporary looks and designs discussed with fans her inspiration for the character created by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm. Harley Quinn herself has exceeded any expectations by becoming a pop-culture icon. Academy Award nominee Margot Robbie will return to the role she originated for the Suicide Squad movie and taking a headlining turn in 2020’s Birds of Prey motion picture. The gallery walls at the DCU HQ off-campus pop-up at NYCC feature many re-imagined takes of the villainous.

DC took the opportunity to not only announce the premiere date for the Harley Quinn animated series, but also announce that they’ll be teaming up again with Blue Ribbon Content for the anthology series BizarroTV which will give its take of stories on the fringe corners of the DC comics universe and provide a very experimental “mixed media” experience for viewers. Also revealed was the upcoming newest WB Home Entertainment DC Universe movies including the much anticipated Superman: Red Shon and Justice League Dark: Apokolips.

An additionally exciting news flash is that DC Universe will be joining forces with and encouraging fans to get creative with DCYou Unscripted inviting its audience to create and submit unscripted series ideas with the opportunity to perhaps launch on DC Universe. Lots more await anyone attending the DCU HQ at New York Comic-Con.
