The following is the official synopsis:

“As an archaeologist, Diana who works at the Smithsonian Museum, is a Wonder Woman who has extraordinary superpowers, said to be the strongest hero in the world. In 1984, Wonder Woman is in desperate deadly danger in face of an enormous conspiracy of the businessman Max, who sings loudly to fulfill people’s desires, and a mysterious foe, Cheetah. Can Wonder Woman stop the world’s collapse alone?”

Despite mixed reviews, the film has succeeded in greenlighting a third film, allowing director Patty Jenkins to complete her epic. Kristen Wiig, whose fate was left ambiguous, will return as Cheetah alongside Gal.  Further, the legendary Lynda Carter’s character Asteria will have a more prominent role in the plot. Carter portrayed Diana on ABC’s Wonder Woman from 1975-78. In recent years she returned to the DC Universe on the second season of the CW’s Supergirl as President Olivia Marsdin. In WW84, her character is a hero in Amazon culture, who enabled them to escape to Themyscira by allegedly sacrificing herself. In the midcredit scene, it is revealed that she has survived and, like Diana, hides in plain sight in the 1980s.

Both formats will be available for purchase March 30th.
