Although an exact date had not been announced by the cast, the target month for the beginning of season three is this August. Brendan Thwaites, Teagen Croft, Alan Ritchson, Anna Diop, Curran Walters, Joshua Orpin, and Damaris Lewis teased the current season is finally under production after a three-year hiatus. They are joined in the video by newcomers Jay Lycrugo, Savannah Welch, and Vincent Kartheiser.
Titans Season Three will pick up where the second left off. Not only will fans get to see the disgruntled Jason Todd (Walters) transition from Robin into The Red Hood for revenge against the team, but Bruce Wayne (Ian Glen) will quickly replace him with Tim Drake (Lycrugo) as the new Boy Wonder. The second season – loosely based on the infamous story “The Judas Contract” – saw the introduction of the villainous Deathstroke and the rise of Dick Grayson as Nightwing. Writers expanded the story to explain the dark secret at that led to The Titans dissolution five years earlier, which introduced Slade Wilson’s body-jumping son Jericho. On the side was the opportunity to bring in Connor Kent aka Superboy, the clone of Superman and Lex Luthor. And finally, the final victory over Deathstroke came at the cost of the death of Donna Troy (Connor Leslie). This season will introduce the other main antagonist Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow (Kartheiser), and Commissioner Barbara Gordon (Welch), the former Batgirl. Welch’s real-life amputation will be incorporated into the reason Barbara retired from crimefighting, as opposed to being shot in the spine by The Joker.
