When last we left Anne Bonny, Iris, Mary, and Jane Castor they were on the run for their lives after the betrayal of Calico Jack Rackham. The Ladies are in hiding but that doesn’t mean they are hiding in fear as we see from just the first few pages. So let’s take a gander at what is next for our vagabonds.Â
Action And Intention Are Not The Same
Anne has been making the most of her hiding experience much to the chagrin of Mary. But a woman named Amira is looking to change all that for reasons unknown. Jane and Iris are having their own issues as safety slips through their fingers and men that Jane’s Dad have sent to bring her back. but she is not ready to go and Iris is fully ready for the fight.Â
Anne proves to Mary why she is the protector after the Governor’s soldiers find them. But the two groups reunite amidst a hail of gunfire and the motive to make it to their ship and escape. but when a veritable army corner them…is safety even an option anymore?
PositivesÂ
It was so nice to see this appear before my eyes. Stephanie Phillips has been killing it on Harley Quinn but I have missed Anne Bonny and the rest of the gang. It is a transportation back into the days of piracy and the high seas. No inhibitions or limitations. Josh George and John Kalisz bring this world to life with their talents.Â
The covers are spectacular. The writing makes you feel the sense of wonder that only comes from the imagination of a pirate can give. The artwork brings the scenes before your eyes and through the action and chaos it keeps you on the edge of your seat.Â
NegativesÂ
That it took so long for more of this amazing series?
Conclusion
It was exciting to come back to A Man Among Ye and the wait for A Man Among Ye #5 was worth it in every regard. This is truly a series to watch.Â
