Summary
Positives
Scott Snyder and Tony S. Daniel…page 21. It’s going to go down…but sigh…not in this particular issue (spoiler).
Blacktop Bill and William…the confrontation we are looking for as the Sundog Convoy is looking to end the Great PM. Both Snyder and Daniel take the dream sequences, the excitement, the crescendos, and all of that to the next level in this issue.
This issue has the convoy finally arriving at their destination, but there are wrenches in the plan. But as always, Snyder leaves us with another cliffhanger that will keep us coming back for more Nocterra.
Buy this one for the big setup as well as the art, but as an avid collector, you will want to see the appetizer of Bill and William in the same room. Remember when Bane and Batman first met. Yeah… me too! This is going to be good!
Tony S Daniel draws silhouettes and teeth like no other. I thought Todd McFarlane had a cornerstone on this from his Spawn days, but Daniel has done for teeth what McFarlane did for webbing!
Positives 2.0
Nocterra… the enemy of my enemy is arguably still my enemy. This storytelling is on fire as you don’t know whom to trust. Is Bill working for his own greater good? Or is it about revenge? Just like in the Walking Dead… was the Governor truly the evilest or is there a Negan creeping around? William versus Bill. Great writing!
Negatives
None! Finally, we get the showdown we wanted between William and Bill. Are they both playing the Sundog convoy?
Verdict
BUY THIS BOOK! We are already beginning the second story arc! In fact, go out and get the “Full Throttle Dark” storyline in Trade Paperback form. If you’re not hooked yet, here’s a link to the first issue. I keep touting both Daniel and Snyder as a dream team because they simply are. This is so reminiscent of The Stand, and Walking Dead, but then again… It’s Nocterra and it’s awesome!
