La Borinqueña Creator Teams Up With DC For Puerto Rico Hurricane Benefit

Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez, the creator of indie comic sensation, La Borinqueña, about a young Puerto Rican woman who finds out she has superpowers, has created a new anthology comic to aid the recovery effort from the hurricane that devastated Puerto Rico.

His publisher, Somos Arte, has teamed up with DC Comics, to publish the anthology, with contributions from Gail Simone, Denys Cowan, Yanick Paquette, and John Woodward, as well as actors Rosario Dawson and Rubén Blades, novelist Esmerelda Santiago, and Edgardo Miranda-Rodriguez himself.

The book, titled Ricanstruction, will also feature a story where the titular hero will team up with an array of DC superheroes including Wonder Woman, Superman, Batman, Aquaman, and The Flash and is set to hit stores May 19th.
