For those DC enthusiasts that collect merchandise spanning the DC Universe, it can sometimes be a chore to crawl the web looking for that next rare DC piece to add to your collection. I have been collecting for over ten years now and even though I have my regular sites, sometimes a good recommendation of a source that you don’t know about can unearth a surprise collectable! Our partner site Dark Knight News and ourselves here at DCN have been lucky enough to have the chance to review some great items from our friends over at Insight Editions.
Insight Editions is a great online source for unique items will add that extra bat punch to your collection. We had a close look at several items that would complement your study area in your house, a collectable shelf, or even as a gift for that special someone.
If you’re like me, then you take a notebook no matter where you go and even though I’m a technologist by day my creative side loves to brain storm, take notes, and plan in a book. That book for me now is no other than the DC Comics Batman Hard Cover Ruled Journal: Artist EditionThis is no ordinary notebook, it has been brought to life with the artwork of the DC legend Greg Capullo. Before you get to the ruled line pages, this book brings carry’s the wrath of the Dark Knight with brilliant black and white iconic images.. Click through the slide show below to explore this great piece.
The second piece could be a collection for yourself, or a present for someone special. These pop up cards carry a brilliant creative design that when opened produce their own unique story. We reviewed two cards, one which produced the Bat mobile from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and another which unearthed the Bat Signal with the Dark Knight Watching over Gotham City. These cards have been hand designed, carry a high level of detail and put a smile on our face when we opened them. Even though they are hand-made cards, the quality of the material is solid and strong carrying the feel of a pop up book.
The third item was a stationary set, but this isn’t no ordinary stationery set; this one belongs in Arkham Asylum. This set comes with a pen, individual paper notes to write on & envelopes. Neatly packaged, the pen has a smooth feel when writing and you also have a note-book which reminds you that only the criminally insane belong in Arkham! A nice touch.
For those that like building models, then the Incredibuilds: Batman Signature Series Batmobile 3D Wood Model and Book is what you need. This brilliant collectable comes with a great book showcasing the infamous 1989 Batmobile, with rare images, and a detailed description of the car including all its components. Complimenting the book is a wood based model that you can build and enjoy!
