Tom King has revealed that a popular character from our childhood will be gracing the comic pages in his upcoming Batman/Catwoman series. We will get to see the Phantasm from the 1993 film Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. The Phantasm, aka Andrea Beaumont, was created by Alan Burnett and Paul Dini. The character has been a fan favorite and returned in The Batman Adventures. Beaumont also appeared in an episode of Justice League Unlimited entitled “Epilogue” and the Batman Beyond 2.0 comic series.

King has revealed on Twitter that the new Batman/Catwoman series will feature the Phantasm on its January 2020 release date. King has already made headlines with the Batman #50 wedding debacle and will end his run on the series with issue #85. King is known for his critically acclaimed Mister Miracle series and is co-writing the New Gods film with Ava DuVernay as the director.

This is the synopsis of Tom King’s Batman #73:

The Fall and the Fallen” part four! Batman has been defeated by Bane’s minions and chased out of Gotham. As a last-ditch effort to save his son from the lonely fate of being Batman, his father from another universe, Thomas Wayne, a.k.a. the Flashpoint Batman, is taking Bruce to the far ends of the Earth to try to give him the one thing that will cause him to give up crime-fighting for good.

Batman #73 hits digitally and in stores on June 19, 2019.
