David Ramsey has returned to the DCTV Universe as both John Diggle and in a new role: Director.
And a mystery role?
David Ramsey – Who is He and The 411 on John Diggle’s Future
David Ramsey portrayed John Diggle alongside Stephen Amell‘s Oliver Queen on all eight seasons of Arrow and corresponding crossovers and spinoffs. His film credits include Pay It Forward and Draft Day, and he also portrayed Muhammad Ali in the televised biopic Ali: An American Hero. David also made his directorial debut in 2018 on Arrow. “I remain in awe of the imprint these shows have had on television,” Ramsey says, “and I’ve been blessed for the better part of a decade to be a part of them both in front of and behind the camera. To say I’m excited beyond belief to return to the Berlantiverse would be an understatement. I can’t wait to continue telling these stories.”
In the series finale of Arrow, Diggle and his family were bound for Metropolis after Oliver Queen’s funeral. Further, a chance encounter with a falling meteorite bestowed upon him a glowing emerald ring. The latter hinted at John’s possible destiny as a member of the Green Lantern Corps, and the former a possible guest spot on the upcoming Superman and Lois. The last time he was seen was imparting advice on a still-mourning Barry Allen on The Flash after chasing down a false lead on a possible last mission from Oliver. Regarding Green Lantern, John’s destiny has been hinted at several times, including a revelation that his stepfather’s surname is Stewart. This alludes to Hal Jordan’s fellow corpsman and one-time replacement, John Stewart.
It remains to be seen where the former Spartan will appear and what episode he will direct. Stay tuned.
