Recently Arrow’s star Stephen Amell talked about Justice League in general and his enthusiasm on participating in the DC Cinematic Universe. Geoff Johns confirmed however that the movies and the television series about The Flash and Arrow exist in separate continuities. Do not worry just yet as Stephen also stated recently that even if he is not to participate on the films as part of the League, the TV universe of DC Comics may very well be creating its own league. That’s right!
Justice League or something more?
Arrow and Flash
Thanks to an interview by CBR, we have several details revealed by the rising star of the Arrow TV series. Amell discussed Arrow and Justice League during Fan Expo Canada 2014.
“We are creating a Justice League on TV for us. I don’t think there is a logistical reality to us participating in the feature side. That being said, I never wanted to have to feel like the show was justified, just because we participated in the movie. I don’t think my character would participate on the cinematic side.”
“What’s that saying… six seasons and a movie? Our show right now has me, Arsenal, Flash. There’s going to be Firestorm and Atom. The Justice League elements of it are very present on our shows already.”
That statement only hints something more than just a team up in the future, Justice League of America anyone?
Amell listed various shows based on comic book that will premiere and return this fall, including Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. which is a Marvel Entertainment property, talk about goodsport!
Oliver, Felicity and Arsenal
Stephen also detailed some plot points about Oliver’s relationship with Felicity, stating Season 3 of Arrow will revisit that and watch it grow, and the importance of Felicity’s centric episode: The Secret Origin of Felicity Smoke.

Arsenal and Arrow, Roy and Oliver respectively will develop a brother-like relationship during Season 3.
We may not have listened details about Diggle but that does not mean he will be sidelined in the show as we have already seen his great role in the Suicide Squad episodes and the potential of the character, if any positives about Arrow are solid, is the fact the human factor of the show is what makes it amazing.
He also talked about Green Lantern and the possible inclusion of the hero in the shows.
“Now, boy we’ve referenced Ferris Air a lot. It would be really cool to have Green Lantern. Hopefully, that happens. I have no inside information, unless I do.”
While Amell did not discuss Gotham or the upcoming Supergirl television series, we already know the potential crossovers that may mean.
Not only will Atom debut on The Flash, but also Amell’s cousin will be playing Firestorm. Black Canary and The Huntress have appeared on Arrow while future villains of the Justice League will star as recurring characters in The Flash. The elements for a television version of Justice League are set, it’s up to the writers and producers – and we fans to make the dream true.
The TV universe of DC Comics just keeps growing, Brandon Routh will star as Ray Palmer – The Atom, Robbie Amell as Ronnie Raymond – Firestorm, with Stephen guest starring in The Flash and returning to Arrow which will also feature Arsenal and Black Canary, while Grant Gustin will star on his series as The Flash.
Marvel may be dominating the silver screen, but DC Comics is currently taking the lead on television with current and upcoming series.
