When Zack Snyder talks, people listen! Actor Ezra Miller was surprised when the director contacted him and offered him the role of Barry Allen/The Flash in his newly formed DC Comics’ cinematic universe, which kicked off with Snyder’s 2013 film Man of Steel.

Miller told MTV at the Sundance Film Festival that he was in Costa Rica when the Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director reached out to his agent. “He says, ‘I have Zack Snyder on the phone, and he wants to talk to you about this DC Universe thing,’” said Miller.

Miller is being “fast-tracked” as the Flash with potential appearances in Justice League Part One, Justice League Part Two, as well as The Flash in 2018. He says he hasn’t starting physically training yet for his turn as Barry Allen. “I’m not running yet,” he said. “Right now, I’m still in the stretching phase. I want to stretch for a while.”
