In an interview with Canoe, Zack Snyder ended up talking about more than the Dorito’s Super Bowl contest. He started talking about the rumors that were flying around a possible Man of Steel 2 by saying,
I think in a way Batman V Superman is Man of Steel 2…Justice League is kind of the transcendent, knights-of-the-round-table of the story. It’d be interesting to think about what a standalone Superman movie might be.
With Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice picking up where Man of Steel ended makes it seem like a sequel in the regard that it picks up where the other movie ended. However, outside of that there doesn’t really seem to be any strong sequel vibe going on. The fact that DC has more on its plate makes it seem like they are more focused on getting things set up for the Justice League movie set to come out in 2017. As well as the other amazing movies like Wonder Woman being released that same year and Suicide Squad in 2016. So as far as the caped crusader goes it looks like fans of Superman will have to wait on another solo movie. But don’t get too discouraged as it doesn’t seem that Zack isn’t opposed to another Superman solo film. If you could direct the Man of Steel 2, who or what would you put in it and why?
