It’s the golden rule of comic books that with very few exceptions, nobody stays dead forever. The same can be said for live-action media based on comics. The CW’s Arrow certainly hasn’t shied away from introducing the show’s characters to their premature deaths and bringing them back in a multitude of fashions.

It comes as no surprise, therefore, that earlier today at SDCC, during the CW DC TV panels, Arrow producer Wendy Mericle announced that Laurel Lance may have her chance to return from the grave after her untimely demise at the hands of Damien Darhk in season 4.

Mericle had this to say regarding Black Canary’s return to the DCTV Universe:

We will definitely see [Katie Cassidy] in 501, and we have made a deal with her across Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow, so Katie Cassidy is definitely not gone from this universe.

The Arrow producer did not directly tell fans that the character will be brought back to life, but the fact that she will reappear in multiple series across the DC Television Universe implies that she will. Not to mention, it was revealed that the Flashpoint event have a lasting effect on the other DCTV series’ on The CW.

There are many possibilities for the resurrection Laurel Lance, but the effect Flashpoint will have on Arrow and the other DC/CW television shows seems to be the most likely scenario.
