Positives
The skirmish in the first few pages between the two sides of the “Bat Family”, is both a pain to watch but also intriguing, as our idea of good and bad gets challenged. Tim Drake in this story plays on Bruce Wayne’s guilt for all the losses he may be responsible including Drake himself. Tynion uses Drake as a vessel for character exploration, examining Drake’s relationships with each team member. The conclusion, to this arc is very satisfying, although serendipitous , as the “Bat Family” will never be the same again.
Negatives
There are no negatives worth mentioning in this issue.
Verdict
Buy, as the creative team behind this book more than prove they can tell exquisite stories within sequential art.
