Last May, the release of Batman: Return to Arkham was officially announced after many leaks emerging just prior. Batman: Return to Arkham is set to bring about the remastered HD versions of both critically acclaimed video games Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City to the next generation consoles (Xbox One and PS4).
Batman: Return to Arkham offers a fantastic way for players old and new to revisit the iconic Arkham tales, but this time with all improved graphics and textures, set to make the world of Batman all the more rich and vivid. The game also comes with all of the DLC (Downloadable Content) ever released for both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City.
WB Games delayed the game’s release back in June. This week, however, they’ve bounced back with an all new trailer showing off the work they’ve been doing with Virtuos, a third party developer they’ve hired to remaster the games, as well as the new release date of October 18th.
A comparison side-by-side footage showing what both games look like played on the PS3 and on the PS4 was uploaded to the official Batman Arkham YouTube page. This has sparked a lot of debate within the community, with very mixed opinions. Many feel that the graphics on the remastered version look a lot worse than they did for the original release. However, many believe the remastered version to look far better, so check out the video and let us know what you think!
It would appear many of the backgrounds and the environment looks far more detailed, however some of the character models seem to look simplified. Particularly in the case of the Joker.
