It’s official! True Blood and Magic Mike star Joe Manganielo will face off against Ben Affleck as Slade Wilson/Deathstroke in the next Batman film. The news was revealed by DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns as he discussed his new role in the company.

Affleck recently shared on his Twitter account footage of the new Deathstroke, but didn’t tell who would play the Deathstroke or which film(s) he would appear in.

Johns would not reveal if Manganiello would be in next year’s Justice League film, or when we could expect a solo Batman film starring Affleck.

Deathstroke first appeared as a foil to Batman’s former protege Robin in New Teen Titans #2. New Zealand actor Manu Bennett played Slade Wilson recently on the series Arrow.
