Summary

Dick and Mutt’s search for General Harrington leads them to the Pentagon and the truth about the dangerous element set loose by War Pig One. It’s Dastardly and Muttley versus a quadruped creep in the battle to save the planet from becoming a brave new world of talking animals and a billion shiny colors.

Positives

In the opening pages, the Unstablium has taken hold of Congress and turned Congressmen into monkeys, a rather funny satire. We soon find out that the military discovered an old magical artifact, which can turn people into animals., which so happens to be the source of the Unstablium, which adds a bit of the fantastical to the story. The most heartbreaking scene is when Muttley calls his family and they don’t recognize who he is, as his voice sounds increasingly like a dog, humanizing this story. Lastly, the president has become a fox and sends Dastardly and Muttley on a mission to neutralize and reverse the element, which puts everything into perspective for the reader.

Negatives

The absurd elements are a bit weird at times, but the story structure makes up for it.

Verdict

Buy, as this story adds some twists and will have readers reaching for the conclusion.
