CBS Orders Pilot for “Secret Six”

It appears that a Secret Six show is in the works, and a pilot has been ordered by CBS! Rick Muirragui, a co-executive producer on Suits, is set to write and executive produce the series along with Bill Lawrence and Jeff Ingold.  According to Variety, the plot is as follows:

“Six morally ambiguous strangers, each with their own unique specialties and secret pasts are rounded up by an enigmatic figure who blackmails them into working as a team to expose the corruption of the corporate and political elite.”

This may seem like an exact duplicate of the recent Suicide Squad movie, but be aware that the character tones and motivations will likely be much different, as the Suicide Squad is an extension of the U.S. government, while the Secret Six is not.  While Harley Quinn and Deadshot have been on both teams, this could be an opportunity to see characters that have yet to be portrayed in live action, such as Cheshire, Catman, Knockout, Black Alice, Giganta, or Ventriloquist.
