Mattel’s time as producer of DC Comics action figures is coming to an end.
As announced in this Spin Master press release, starting in Spring 2020, the company will be DC’s new toy licensee for the boys’ action toys; remote control and robotic vehicles; water toys and games; and puzzles. This will bring an end to the popular line of Multiverse action figures, at least in their current incarnation.
Mattel will still apparently continue producing preschool and girls’ toys (e.g. DC Super Hero Girls). DC figures produced by other licensees, such as Hot Toys and Mezco, won’t be impacted by this deal.
