SUPERMAN #17 No Longer Part of ‘Year of the Villain’

Remember way back in August, when DC asked retailers to destroy copies of Superman #15 and Supergirl #33 because they shouldn’t have had “Year of the Villain” banners on the covers?

Well, get ready for some deja vu. DC has removed November’s Superman #17 as a crossover as well, with retailers being told that the planned acetate cover will be replaced with a new Ivan Reis/Joe Prado piece (minus the Villain banner). The new art has yet to be revealed, but here are both parts of the original cover:
