The Suicide Squad released a ton of information today as the cast gathered virtually to reveal some new behind the scenes footage. Final confirmation of which actors are playing which character was revealed through teaser images.
More Than A Dirty Dozen
Director James Gunn, alongside the cast of The Suicide Squad, hosted a revealing (and at times rambunctious) look at the movie. First things first though… take a look at the teaser trailer that just dropped featuring the roll call.
This latest trailer features a stylized representation of the characters similar to the first teaser images we received from the first movie. One key omission though was King Shark. It was not revealed who will be voicing him but there is speculation already going on the internet.
Ostrander’s legacy
Gunn revealed a little bit more about his approach to this movie. Clearly, Gunn is excited to be a part of this project and stated a few times how much fun he had. He even went so far as to say that this was the most fun he’s ever had on a movie.
Another thing he revealed was how he saw this project not as a reinvention of the Suicide Squad but rather a continuation of the comics. Gunn noted how he is a big fan of John Ostrander‘s classic run of Suicide Squad from the 70’s. He said that he wants this movie as more of a sequel to the books (ed. perhaps similar to what we see in HBO’s Watchmen)

Before getting to the behind the scenes look at the movie that just wrapped shooting, Gunn hosted a trivia session between two teams made up of the cast. Clearly, the cast enjoys each others company (even Michael Rooker’s company) and fans can hope that energy will be evident when the movie hits theater.
