Summary

“Tell your new bestie I want both of you to come for me.  Come to where it all started!” Vanessa
Basilisk #8: “Even Gods” Vanessa descends upon another ghost town with the Faithful and Barret in tow, this time the one where Hannah’s family died, and Hannah isn’t far behind, on the hunt for Vanessa. In the aftermath of the confrontation, Vanessa retreats to the community where it all began, finding an eerie sight both familiar and unexpected.
New York Times bestselling horror writer Cullen Bunn (Harrow County) and artist Jonas Scharf (Avengers Of The Wasteland) reunite to unleash a supernatural horror series for fans of Killadelphia and Stillwater rooted in the way we process the world – our senses.

Positives

This series regrettably comes to an end with a series of scenes that comment on revenge, religion, power, and an entire hose of moral compass issues!

In the last issue of an eight-issue story arc, it’s difficult to provide any details that would not give the story away as Cullen Bunn is an excellent storyteller.  In a world of spoilers, you don’t want a review that provides too much and this issue provides a wrap-up that whets the appetite for further Bunn work.

Negatives

Just that it has ended, but at least there are cliffhangers as any good horror story arc should have!

Verdict

This series could easily be a movie screenplay.  I hope that Boom Studios provides it as a graphic novel that a studio would pick up as the characters are rich and the ending is….well…buy the series.  You’ll crave more character development, but that is a sign of a good book.  It keeps you wanting more!
