Summary

During arguments with Jordan and Jonathan, Clark’s sudden outbursts get even worse. Lois seeks help for Clark from her father General Sam Lane. Meanwhile, Lana makes plans of her own as her campaign for mayor heats up.

Positives

Superman & Lois 2×03 has Lois still looking for a way to get in touch with Lucy, her sister. After Sam’s constant denials at first, he finally agrees, and Lois meets Lucy at the local Smallville diner–or so she thinks. Ally Alston, leader of The Inverse Society shows up instead. At first, I thought that Ally Alston was just another crazed cult leader obsessed with worship, however, I think there’s a more nefarious plan going on with her.

Lana’s run for mayor of Smallville starts out on a positive note, with her receiving plenty of support from people in town. However, Mayor Dean isn’t a fan of her support. Receiving some information from a friend, she finds out Dean is investigating her and her family. I hated this for Lana because she seems to really want what’s best for Smallville. Kyle thinks they should fight fire with fire and dig up dirt as well. Lana is strongly against it, citing she wants to take a higher road. I have to admit that I was impressed that she didn’t fall for the negatives of politics and stuck to her plans and beliefs.

Negatives

Superman’s constant anger outbursts continue to be a problem. After a conversation with Lois and John, they all conclude that it has to be something in the mines that’s affecting Superman. John Henry volunteers to investigate and what he finds is terrifying. A creature in a containment suit is unleashed, and Superman can barely contain him, even with the help of John Henry. The creature’s face is finally revealed, it seems that Bizarro has made an appearance, and his intentions are unknown.

Verdict

Superman & Lois 2×03 is a great episode and leaves you wanting to see the next immediately. Bizarro showing up gives us a real treat and I’m excited to see another confrontation between him and Superman. Lois and Ally’s conflict is also just as interesting, and I always love to see Lois investigating and causing trouble. Ally Alston seems to be more of a threat than what I gave her credit for at first, and I’m eager to see how far her and Lois’s conflict goes.
