Summary
Gar ventures into the world of Goode Googles.
Positives
Everyone carries scars, it’s how you deal with it. Beast Boy has been absent from the team for the majority of the season doing his own thing in the form of his TVshow. We learned this episode how much of a crutch the show had become and how it filled void for him losing his friends, his partners, and his family. It was a great way to explain his absence and give a new layer to a character that may seem silly and immature. Half way through the episode we get a Doom Patrol Segment and a revamp of the Hello Megan sitcom while I mostly don’t enjoy these when they creep up this time it was a great change of pace and humorous for episode literally shrouded in darkness.
Negatives
The reveal we all saw coming. No one should be shocked about the reveal of Granny Goodness or the Goode Googles. Young Justice has always had a good way of hiding reveals until the very end with grand endings that shock the audience when they come out. This season lacked that magic and had us all in on the plot from the very start.
Verdict
Even with the lack of reveal magic, the episode was solid and had great emotion throughout. Cyborg still reeling from his incident and Halo learning who she truly is pack on layers to this show we haven’t seen before, a tram divided must unite or end it all.
