Jim Lee, still DC Publisher, gave fans a window to tomorrow in day 2 of DC FanDome.
The fan experience of new ways of viewing DC’s multiple forms of media was expanded by Jim’s announcements on the fate of the shows associated with the restructured DC Universe, a platform that allowed fans to access everything from back issues to their favorite DC cartoons and TV series. Months ago, fans became incensed and began speculating the future of shows like Doom Patrol, Titans, Swamp Thing, Harley Quinn, Stargirl, and Young Justice: Outsiders.
A month ago, the publisher and superstar artist went on record to explain the expected shift of DC’s content to a worthy platform: HBO Max. “Truthfully, [HBO Max is] the best platform for that content. The amount of content you get [is] huge and it’s the best value proposition if I’m allowed to to use that marketing term. [Regarding the DCU community], and all the backlist content, somthing like 20,000 to 25,000 different titles, and the way it connects to fans 24-7, there is always going to be a need for that. So we’re excited to transform it and we’ll have more news on what that will look like. It’s definitely not going away.”
On Twitter, Lee ended the silence on the matter. He fired a very loud and very visual shot off the fandom’s bow shedding light on the future of DC’s most dysfunctional superhero group on TV. The tweet reads, “Congratz to @dcdoompatrol for season 3 pickup by @hbomax! Stay tuned next week for big news about @thedcuniverse and its exciting future! #dcuniverse”

In related DC news, the first and only season of Swamp Thing is currently scheduled to air on The CW, while Stargirl has seen dual exposure on that network and on DCU. Titans, meanwhile, has been renewed for a third season with the projected debut of Jason Todd as The Red Hood.
