DC Comics announces  a prequel comic series for the highly anticipated video-game Batman: Arkham Knight.
The ‘Arkham’ series of video games based on DC Comic’s iconic hero Batman, has spawned four succesful console games, a plethora of merchandise and even a digital and print comic book series. Now the series is about to launch another comic book, this time, a prequel series that continues from where ‘Batman: Arkham City’ left off and ties into the highly anticipated  next-gen installment: ‘Batman: Arkham Knight’. Take a peek at the cover, below, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
DC Comics has released digital comics based on the Arkham series before, but this one is unique in terms of storytelling, not only tied into the game, but offering a background for the all-new eponymous villain: The Arkham Knight.
The premise of the prequel title continues to grasp the air of originality as the previous installments in the game series, storywise speaking. Written by Peter J. Tomasi (Batman and Robin) with art by Viktor Bogdanovic and Art Thibert, and covers by Dan Panosian. We will dive into a world where The Joker is dead, and the Arkham City prison complex is closed. In a dark place, Bruce Wayne is questioning whether Gotham needs Batman—but new trouble begins to stir, all of it tied to the Arkham Knight.
Arkham Knight #1 will be released on Feb. 24, 2015, and Batman: Arkham Knight game will be launched for next-gen consoles: Playstation 4 and Xbox One on June 2, 2015. The print version of the comic will debut in March 11.
Big news surrounds this installment of the franchise, check out the news about the interactive graphic novel based on Arkham Origins, and also the future release of a DLC featuring Scarecrow.
