Hey everyone! As we are coming closer and closer to the Suicide Squad movie we are anxiously awaiting to see how one of our most beloved characters is going to be portrayed by Jared Leto. In an interview with Empire Magazine he talked about how he created this mental psyche for his Joker. Stating that he would read literature on shamans and spend nights alone listening to gospel music from the 1920s and had this to say about how he created it.
There was definitely a period of…detachment. I took a pretty deep dive. But this was a unique opportunity and I couldn’t image doing it another way. It was fun, playing those psychological games. But at the same time it was very painful, like giving birth out of my prick-hole. I always get the sense that the Joker may be much older than people think…
Jared was asked by ComicBook.com if he was still “cooling down” from getting into the psyche of the Joker, in which he replied with probably the most truthful insight possible,
I think I’ll be cooling down for the rest of my life.
