The name “Geoff Johns” is synonymous with DC Comics. Now, it will also be synonymous with DC Entertainment.
In addition to his title as Chief Creative Officer at the Warner Bros. division, Johns will also serve as the newly appointed President of DC Entertainment. He will continue to shepherd film and television adaptations of Warner Bros.’ DC Comics-based intellectual property as CCO.
Johns will still answer to the President of DC Entertainment, President of Warner Bros. Consumer Products and President and Chief Content Officer of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, Diane Nelson.
Prior to his new role, Johns ushered in the returns of Silver Age characters Green Lantern Hal Jordan and the Flash/Barry Allen. Recently, Johns helped launch the “Rebirth” initiative, re-instituting the lineage of DC Characters in the “New 52”. He has also written for DC Entertainment shows like Smallville, Arrow and The Flash. Johns is currently co-writing a script with Ben Affleck for a new Batman movie in which Affleck will star.
