Things are getting way darker for the Legends who are preparing to wage war of a supernatural foe that’s going to require some finessing from a familiar face.
When DC’s Legends of Tomorrow return from their mid-season hiatus, the team is moving through more than space and time. The primetime series will be settling into a new day and hour on The CW when it begins to alternatively share the Monday night spot with Supergirl. A controversial move, but one that fans shouldn’t worry about — it doesn’t mean that either show is in any kind of ratings trouble — think of it instead like your subscription to an anthology series.
The new episode of DC’s Legends will run on February 12 and will supplant the Girl of Steel until that show returns to its original airtime on April 16, giving Supergirl ample time to catch up production on wrapping its Season 3. As for the Legends, they’ll have a new face joining them on the bridge of the “Waverider” when John Constantine (guest star Matt Ryan) seeks to help them with their latest adversary — a supernatural menace called “Mallus”.
White Canary (Caity Lotz) encountered the entity at the conclusion of their most recent confrontation with Damien Darhk (played by Neal McDonough) who continues to sort out his plans for world domination. It’s only natural that Constantine pop up to help fight magic with magic. The tenth episode of the season is entitled “Daddy Darhkest” and will prove one of the most adventurous arcs the team has had to face.

While Constantine will be a refreshing new face for fans of the show, this marks the demonologist’s second appearance inside the “Arrowverse” continuity. The first was on Arrow and after the cancellation of his own show on NBC after only one season. The character’s fateful resurrection from cancellation has also brought him notably into his own “in-story” animated series that will launch on The CW Seed.
This has been a very big season for DC’s Legends of Tomorrow after having lost members of their ranks, though adding the weather-wielding/tech-genius Zari (Tala Ashe) and rumor has it they will soon be satisfying their need for speed welcoming Kid Flash (Keiynon Lonsdale) into the fold.
