Summary

The war for the fate of the entire digiverse continues as Cyborg has now joined forces with his evil counterpart to stop Anomaly once and for all! Now being able to see the digiverse in its “code”, Cyborg is able to rewrite the digiverse slowly on the fly, as he sees fit! However what happens once Anomaly is able to do the same thing?

Positives

This issue was nothing but action and I enjoyed every minute of it. It seems that Cyborg is now able to rewrite the code of the digiverse anyway he wants–although he can’t rewrite the entire infected digiverse because it’s too complex. Joining forces with his alternate self to now fight Anomaly, Cyborg also sees what happens with his personal life if he would’ve made certain decisions differently as well. Semper Jr. makes Cyborg asks certain questions about his choices and ultimately he values the path he’s currently on as a hero despite them.

Negatives

I have no negatives about this issue. The action was fast paced throughout the entire book, and it almost had a “Matrix” type story telling to it that made it really awesome. Semper Jr. even gives us a surprise at the end of the book, as we realize that although the digiverse is saved–the real world is not!

Verdict

Cyborg #17 was a good read. The story is well told, the action was amazing and the art by Will Conrad totally puts you in the world of the digiverse. Conrad’s attention to every detail puts you in the middle of the action on every page and I look forward to the very same quality in the next issue!
