Actor Matt Ryan Has Been Cast As NBC’s Constantine

Television network NBC has cast the lead character in their up coming DC Comics based show, Constantine. Welsh actor, Matt Ryan who has appeared in Assassin’s Creed IV as Edward Kenway will play the supernatural detective.

Keanu Reeves played John Constantine before in the 2005 film, Constantine. The character was the lead character of the Vertigo series, Hellblazer and now rebooted in DC’s New 52 series, Constantine and Justice League: Dark. Daniel Cerone and David S. Goyer have written the pilot with Neil Marshall who has been tapped to direct.
